In 1995 I began the wall sculptures that emphasized the form and space relationships within the works without involving any underlying subject matter. The desert period was over.
In many of the works the focus usually lands on the middle space with form and action occurring also both in front of it and behind it, setting up a foreground, middle ground and background spacial interaction.
In addition to the increased use of negative space to facilitate easy movement through the layers of space within the piece, the glazing acquired an important painterly role of augmenting or counterpointing the sculptural form. |
